Dear friends,
I would like to take this opportunity and tell you all how much I love each of you. We are fortunate to have found each other, to have spent time with each other, to have made an impact on eachother's lives! Our meeting was not by accident, we were born to meet eachother. I am happy to have met and spent time with each of you. I cannot wait till we cross paths again! I cannot wait till we laugh, smile, hug, tell stories, and then laugh about those stories! I am so happy that you are all in my life!
With that said, I would like to share with you what I am dealing with. I have not been saddened like I am now since Jen Benton passed away 2 years ago. I have been in Phoenix on and off since last Wednesday. My Nana (grandmother) has been in the ICU at Maryvale Hospital in Phoenix since last Tuesday. Due to many different factors, knee surgeries, 4 months in physical rehabilitation, her body is giving out. She has an enlarged heart, an infection in her lungs, and it is too much for her to fight.
My mother called me tonight to tell me they were taking her off life-support. I am so sad. My Nana helped raise me. Because of her I learned Spanish before I learned English. She walked me to the bus stop everyday before school when I was in Kindergarten and first grade, and she waited for me at the bus stop when I got home in Kindergarten and in first grade. Everyday when we got home she piled up a plate of Nilla Wafers for me, and a huge glass of cold Milk! She is the sweetest, most loving woman I have ever known.
So, I hope I see you all next week Horning's Hideout. I just don't know if it will happen. If not, know that I am with you in spirit and know that I will be with you as soon as I can (hopefully at Coventry). This is so hard for me, I cannot even explain this in words. Take care of each other and know that I always am thinking of you and loving you.
sincerely,
manny
